Looks like Sawyer and the gang have been living the Dharma life for three years. Sawyer and Juliet are married and living a suburban/pleasantville-like life. Jin and Miles have also assumed Dharma roles. 

What will happen when Jack, Kate, and Hurley join the party? Where are Sun, Sayid, Rose, and Bernard? Oh and Faraday…we didn’t see him in the three years later parts. How did Sawyer and the gang convince the Dharma folk that they should stay? Will the hostiles/others figure out what’s going on?

I liked this episode, but I’m tiring of episodes explaining what happened and catching us up to the farthest point we’ve seen. So we caught up the LOSTies to the Oceanic 6. I’m ready for the story to move forward! 

Week hiatus time. Sad times!

Okay so thoughts:

• The men should win as far as star power. I’ve at least generally heard of all of them. They should be able to use those black books and get more money.
• Tom Green seems to be a voice of reason…a lot. Really? This is the man from The Tom Green Show.
• Joan and Melissa Rivers are annoying. Why are they both on the show? Can’t they do their own things?
• Men’s truck looked way better than the women’s.
• Annie Duke rockstarred the bringing people.
• Dice and Rodman should be huge pulls…instead…just get in the way. Men should keep Rodman around just to attract attention.
• Who are half of these women? 

Not bad. Dunno if it will live up to the good vs evil of Trace Adkins vs Piers, but still. Will Clint Black be this season’s Trace? Can he live up to the hospitality?

Date 1 Melissa. Family. Everyone gets along.

Date 2 Molly. Family. Everyone gets along.

Whine because he doesn’t know who to pick.

Date 3 Melissa. Dinner. Happy. Talk to Melissa’s parents.

Date 4 Molly. Massage, dinner, story.

Call Mel’s parents.

DeAnna. No.

Molly. He says no. Denied. “You are making a mistake.”

Melissa. Propose. Happy. Pool. Child. Woo! Romantic.

Aftershow. Melissa not working out. Dump on national tv. Ask Molly out two minutes later. She wants to be with him.

Okay I know that the Bachelor never works out. Duh. But really? Save that conversation for a more appropriate time. There is no situation where a person should break up with someone (especially on tv!) turn around and ask someone else out two minutes later. No. Not okay.  Okay this partially stems from how much I love Melissa, but still. So Stupid. She was right. He didn’t even try. Things got a little hard and he fled. So what, go back to the other girl? And why would you take him back.  All along, Jason played the nice guy, and now he pulls that? Not a good job. 

It’s fine if feelings fade. Really it is.  There are just more appropriate times, places, anything to have those conversations.  There is no way he should have done that while on camera.  I think enough already has happened with the cameras there. So he got to break up with every single girl on TV. Wonderful.

We start on the island…or the other island? with the random guy and girl from first class. They are looking for supplies in a dharma station. The woman says that they found a guy on the beach in a suit…and he wasn’t on the plane. The plane, by the way, is highly intact. Of course, it’s John Locke, alive and well. Was there any doubt?

John Locke turns the FDW and ends up in Tunisia. Of course. Some really scary doctors set his leg…with Matthew Abbadon (Broyles!) around watching. He passes out, only to wake up with Charles Widmore at his bedside. Widmore remembers him, and asks him how long it’s been since he’s seen him. 4 days. Well the others have been back for three years. Eek. 

He half explains the situation, tells John where the others are. John starts looking. He goes to Sayid, Hurley (who doesn’t believe he’s alive at first), and Walt. Walt!! So good to see him. I hope we see him again. Locke doesn’t even mention what’s going on. Walt’s been through enough. He goes to Helen’s grave. As he’s leaving, someone shoots Abbadon. (Of course this is Ben, we all could have guesses that.) He speeds off and gets in a car accident. Jack is there. He won’t go back either. Kate won’t go back. Great, he’s gotten no where.

Feeling like a failure, Locke starts steps to his suicide. He writes the note to Jack. He rigs the set up. Then…Ben comes to the door. He stops John. He explains that he’s been watching. He wants to help. Locke is talked off the ledge. He still has Ms. Hawking…and then Ben strangles him. He sets it up like a suicide.

Back to the island. The Oceanic 6 seem to have just disappeared from the plane, not crashed. Hmm. Let’s go see the injured…oh look it’s Ben.

I can’t wait until we see everyone together again. When are they? Are Locke and the planies in the same time as the other LOSTies?

Sous Chefs this episode: former contestants. I was so happy to see Richard, Casey, and Marcel! Three of my favorites from seasons past. I hope to see Carla, Stefan, and Fabio on future seasons.  Knife block time…Carla picks 3, Hosea picks 1 (of course), and Stefan picks 2.

Okay, Richard Blais was definite my favorite from last season, and I was sad to see him “choke.”  Redemption time. Okay so they also get thrown a challenge…cook with one of three NO ingredients.  Of course Hosea gets to pick, and he ends up with the fish, Carla gets the crab, and Stefan gets the Alligator.

All of the apps went over well. I think the judges pretty much liked all three. First course, they all like Carla’s, but Stefan and Hosea’s were just eh. Second course, Carla falls flat with a Casey idea sous vide, Stefan has the best dish of the night, and Hosea’s dish is well received as well. Third course, Carla doesn’t get her souffle out, so her plate falls flat, Stefans dessert is “dated,” and Hosea’s venison is complimented.

Okay, to the judges. Toby Young seems to be pulling for Stefan. He thought they were tied overall. From his blog:

“As far as I was concerned, that was exactly the situation in last night’s episode — and, for that reason, we ought to give it to Stefan, who clearly performed better over the course of the season than Hosea. My argument went like this: Stefan and Hosea tied the appetizer and the first course; Stefan won the second; and Hosea won the third. So that was one win each, deadlock.”

I agree. Apparently the other judges thought that the gap in the third course was larger than the gap in the second, and so Hosea won. Grrr. Is that why they’ve been pushing Hosea on us all season? He’s gotten so much screen time and had continually annoyed a good portion of the viewing audience. I’m disappointed because I think that Stefan was a much better chef, and I don’t think he choked or dropped the ball. If Carla would have cooked her own food, I think she probably would have won.  It’s sad that she had to go out because she listened to Casey too much.

On a happier side note, I wish I could eat all of their food! It looked really good.

I think that House taking Methadone to get rid of his pain was a very House move.  He is willing to do almost anything to alleviate his pain. Of course, Cuddy and Wilson care more about House’s well-being than he does himself. He could care less if he’s alive or dead, but wants to be pain free if he’s alive.

Of course, the only thing that would influence House to be in pain is to continue to be House. To continue to be a brilliant doctor. Because pain helps him be shrewd. It makes sense. I thought he was going to go back to pain because he missed something, but instead it’s because being nice wasn’t beneficial. Brilliant.

On the rest of the plot:

I honestly don’t care much about Thirteen and Foreman. So they’re together, who cares? Until her disease catches up with her, it’s not actually that entertaining. I mean, Chase and Cameron have already done the dating thing. I guess Foreman and Thirteen are a little different about it though.

I felt so bad for the kid. It did make me think of last week’s Private Practice though. Like…this is what will happen years down the line. Oh well.

I think Kutner used to be interesting when he was really crazy, but now Taub and him are just there. I wish they had a bit more plot. Or that they were gone altogether.

Morgan is worried because Anna has a new man! So he enlists Chuck, Lester, and Jeff to help him out. C’mon, really? Lester and Jeff. As spies? But of course, Chuck is the one that could never be a spy. (LOL)

Meanwhile, Awesome and Ellie split up the wedding to do list. Awesome gets flowers, cake, band. Why would elli trust him with the flowers and cake??

In Jeff’s super creepy spy van, the Buy Mores follow Anna, who’s meeting with another guy. And then Chuck flashes on his car! Casey and Sarah watch “the idiots.”

Jason Wang, Anna’s new beau, seems to be working with some Triad members. The general assigns Chuck to use his “social connection” to find out more info.

Chuck wakes up to find…Awesome staring at him? And he wants Chuck to take care of the music.

Chuck doesn’t want to betray Morgan’s friendship, and Casey agrees. Semprer Fidelis! Buuuut, this is a mission. Meanwhile, Jeff and Lester have a band, and they want their music at Awesome and Ellie’s wedding.  Anna tells Morgan she is seeing someone. Chuck interrupts and asks Anna if she wants to go on a double date. Sure, come to Jason’s party.

morgan spies on the party and sees Chuck. Oh no. Chuck flashes on Triad members coming in the party. Chuck follows them while Sarah is stuck talking to Anna.  Chuck knocks things over, and just as he’s about to be caught…announcement…someone not allowed on the property is about. Buuuut, it’s not Chuck, it’s not Casey…it’s spy Morgan. Chuck outs Morgan as a stalker to save him, and Morgan leaves, upset. The Triad finds the bug and decides that Morgan really was a spy.

Meanwhile, Ellie calls the Buy More to try to get computer help…and gets Jeffster. The band decides this is their chance to audition. Lester leaves before they can audition.

The next day, at Buy More, Morgan ends his reliance and friendship with Chuck. Sad! Chuck talks to Sarah and tells her that Morgan is and always has been and always will be his family. Sarah brushes him off. Morgan admits that he feels that he needs to do things alone because Chuck is always saving him.  Triad in the Buy More…Chuck knocks Morgan out with the mint spray. He puts him in a box and is trying to get him out of the Buy More. He’s interrupted and the bad guys find the box. eek!

Chuck figures out that the Triad plans to kills the chinese ambassador with a Rolls Royce from the car auction. And Morgan is in the trunk. Chuck races off after the Rolls while Sarah fights the female Triad. Casey jumps on the roof of the car and Chuck finally lets him in. Casey takes out a remote control! and starts to drive the car.  The Rolls gets stuck behind a train and Chuck removes the bomb and puts it in the Nerd Herd car. He drives off and the car explodes. Sarah starts to cry, and then the camera pans to Chuck with the remote. Chuck gets Morgan out of the trunk and brings him back to the Buy More.

Morgan wakes up and the two make up. Inside the store, Awesome brings Ellie in to see…jeffster! No, he’s not going to hire them, he just wanted to give them their chance.

Chuck w/ Sarah and Morgan w/Anna. Too bad Chuck is still stuck in his fake relationship.

I thought this episode was pretty good. I really like the interplay between Chuck and Morgan.  Morgan is always entertaining, and I’m glad he was more central to the plot. The Chuck likes Sarah, Sarah likes Chuck, but they will never get together is a bit frustrating.  I’m not sure how long they can prolong that one. I know they’ve strayed before with Rachel Bilson (I liked that one!) and Jill (Jordana Brewster), but I want Chuck + Sarah!!!

The awards were fairly predicatable.  I had 3/4 acting awards (I didn’t even have a pick for supporting actress), directing, best picture, makeup, and animated correct. C’mon now, I hadn’t even seen many of those movies.

Most of the fashion was good. One of the actree presenters was a little..eh, but overall not bad.

I have no idea what makes zac efron, vanessa hudgens, or rob pattinson worthy of being on stage at the oscars.

Hugh Jackman was good. I liked the opening and the Musical is back numbers. I feel like they tried to make up for the fact that he isn’t a comedian by putting funny people up there as presenters (Tina Fey? Steve Martin makes sense. Jack Black and Ben Stiller?).

The presentations of the acting awards were really good. I really enjoyed going over each nominee.

Heath’s parents and sister’s speech was great. They had the whole crowd on the brink of tears, and probably tons of people at home too. Verry appropriate and touching.
